THE LUNCH LADY’S A GENIUS

The lunch lady’s a genius

Don’t tell anyone

But on the weekends

She does calculus just for fun

The lunch lady’s a genius

She once made a sculpture

For the nature museum

Of an ultra rare vulture

The lunch lady’s a genius

And I’ll tell you what

She studied the dolphins

And lived in a hut

The lunch lady’s a genius

She can name the subspecies

Of the American muskrat

By the scent of its feces

The lunch lady’s a genius

You know what I heard?

She can tell by their tweet

Sixty five types of bird

The lunch lady’s a genius

You know what I saw?

Some architect blueprints

The town had her draw

The lunch lady’s a genius

There’s no need to fear

She’s invented a car

That can self brake and steer

The lunch lady’s a genius

She met with the Queen

To discuss a new theory

On the latest vaccine

The lunch lady’s a genius

She flew to Taiwan

For a weekend to graph

Coral reef and their spawn

The lunch lady’s a genius

And no, she won’t tell

But she corrected a thesis

By Alexander Graham Bell

The lunch lady’s a genius

And wouldn’t you know

She plays violin

Trombone and banjo

The lunch lady’s a genius

She went to Hollywood

To study the Redwoods

Where the weather is good

The lunch lady is fun

She reads at libraries

And does all the voices

Of the gnomes and the fairies

The lunch lady is brave

She flies high and low

To study the mountains

And record fallen snow

The lunch lady is handy

She drives near and far

So she’s learned to repair

All the parts of her car

The lunch lady’s creative

She went way Down Under

Photographing the ocean

With lightning and thunder

The lunch lady saves lives

And once on vacation

At dinner one night

She did a quick operation

The lunch lady’s a thespian

And wouldn’t you know

She writes Broadway plays

And directed a show

The lunch lady’s an athlete

And gosh ain't it grand

When she throws the first pitch

And then cheers from the stand

The lunch lady is clever

She lead a safari

Back home to safety

When the guide said “Where are we?”

The lunch lady knows facts

She fills up with mirth

When she talks about

The exact size of the Earth!

The lunch lady is brilliant

She reads William Shakespeare

While old fashioned duck calling

And catches a pair

The lunch lady’s fantastic

So weird but it’s true

She slept with the penguins

One night at the zoo

The lunch lady is wild

She heads on the trail

Brings only the musts

Fresh footprints to trail

The lunch lady’s so smart

You know she helped NASA

Make all of their rockets

Go just a teeny bit faster

The lunch lady does tricks

Oh, don’t you know

She can use her cell phone

With just her big toe

The lunch lady explores

She’s so curious

She drove to the desert

To study the cactus

The lunch lady’s a genius

She once took a chance

And hopped on a flight

For a weekend in France

And once she was there

They asked her to move

To grand ol’ Paris

To teach art at the Louve

She had to say no

For her schedule was full

Meeting some friends

Down in old Istanbul

The lunch lady’s a genius

I know it because

I’ve heard all about

All the things that she does

The lunch lady’s a genius

And she works in the school

She makes the kids laugh

They all think that she’s cool

The lunch lady is friendly

She’s kind and she’s nice

She remember kid’s names

And gives good advice

The lunch lady is special

She’s kind and alert

She says “Eat all your veggies,

But save room for dessert!”

The lunch lady works hard

She serves all the children

She loves seeing their faces

She finds it fulfilling

But after school

When it’s time to go home

And on the weekends and summers

She just loves to roam

And on the last day of school

She says “See you soon!”

As she rises above

In her hot air balloon
