Cardboard Boxes

We bought a new fridge

And we bought a new stove

A dishwasher too

I guess it was old

We bought a new toilet

And a new vanity

So many new things….

But nothing for ME?!?!

My dear daddy laughed hard

And stomped both his feet

“You don’t use the potty,

Or water, or eat?”

I knew what he meant

But he knew what I meant too

So he thought for a minute

And knew right what to do

“Sometimes one man’s trash

Is his little girl’s treasure!”

And he grabbed a few pens

And a yellow tape measure
